Four eminent specialists coming from all over the world are coming this year for this very special IBM Power Tour 2011, to share with you their experience and the latest technology updates on the hottest topics like Virtualization, High Availability and Systems Management tools on Power Systems.

ANDREAS STEPANEK, Power Platform Executive Northeast Europe, will open this session with a key note speech about Power Systems and the related software strategy. He will also cover the latest October 12th Power Announcements as well as the Roadmap for 2012.

GOTTRIED SCHIMUNEK is a Senior IT Architect with IBM and has been taking a lead role in application and product development projects for over 25 years. Significant enhancements for virtualization technologies help IBM to stay ahead on other platforms. We will share and discuss new functions as well as FC Adaptor sharing and Active Memory Sharing in VIOS. We will also provide directions for Virtualization enhancements planned in the future and introduce the new iDoctor Job Watcher used to identify and solve complex performance issues.

Then we will have the opportunity to listen to THIERRY HUCHÉ, Power Systems Benchmark Manager coming from the IBM Executive Briefing Center in Montpellier with more than 20 years of experience on this platform. He will present the latest versions of IBM Systems Director V6.3 and VMControl 2.4, that are absolutely necessary for a Cloud Computing approach on Power Systems, with a live demonstration. He recently spent 3 weeks in Shanghai to validate these new versions. Please note that this session will be given in French.

STEVEN FINNES is worldwide offering manager for IBM Power Systems High Availability solutions, working at IBM for 30 years. He is responsible for PowerHA SystemMirror for AIX and IBM i. Chief engineering manager for I/O and storage, he and his team brought the first Raid 5 product offering to market in the early ’90s. Author of numerous articles and publications on business resiliency and disaster recovery strategies, In this session we will update you on the latest announced enhancements as well as overview the product offering. We’ll wrap it up with a few customer examples and a discussion on the product roadmap.
